Jessica Howard - Pastry Chef

Jessica's Story:

Jessica grew up locally, here in the Pacific Northwest, and as a child she remembered making several dessert concoctions and testing them out on her family.  "This love for pastries," she said, "is what led me to attend culinary school in Portland."  Jessica attended Western Culinary School and graduated in 2000. 

Shortly afterwards, she ventured off to Boston, MA. where she worked for a year and six months at The Westin Copley Place.  In Boston, Jessica learned many skills that helps her create the desserts you find on the menu at Fife Restaurant today.



There was another reason that brought Jessica back to live in Oregon - her love for the wide array of farm-fresh, organic ingredients locally sourced from area farmers and ranchers.  "There is nothing better than making desserts with big, juicy berries that have just been picked!"

In Jessica's spare time she enjoys tending to her personal vegetable garden, backyard chickens and doing many outdoor activities with her husband.  If you are interested in some good reads relating to home baking or if you are an aspiring pastry chef, below are Jessica's top three recommendations:
